Luxury Commodity

Petrol prices for the average motorists are the highest in the world, several reports from local authorities have confirmed there is price fixing between the petrol companies Galp, BP, Repsol and Cepsa, they all practice the same consumer price, a liter of regular 95 Octane is now a staggering 1,740 €.
These petrol companies with the support of the government increase the prices on a weekly basis using every pretext to do so, a clear example is the current situation, last week the same regular 95 Octane increased by 3 cents per liter, this week again the exact same situation, the reason...every pretext is used to hide the truth from the motorist, there is no justification valid for the speculation carried out by the involved companies and regulating agencies who also take part.
- The (ISP) (called the Robin Hood Tax) a tax that petrol companies pay also increase in January 2013 ,1,10€ for each thousand litres  of regular octane and 2€ for each thousand litres of diesel, this increase was also passed to the consumer.
These prices  will further reduce the buying capacity of the population as money
becomes a luxury commodity.
Petrol consumption this year has decreased by more than 15% and all indications show it will continue do so and by the end of the first half of 2013 consumption
Will have dropped by 23%.

- Almost every activity in Portugal is Taxed in some cases more than once.
